The Proprietor of Lead City University, Ibadan is the Eduserve Consult, which has recorded remarkable achievements in promoting educational development at both the Tertiary and non-tertiary levels especially in the City of Ibadan.
The University submitted its application to the National Universities Commission the year 2002. The Standing Committee on Private Universities (SCOPU) conducted the verification and the final assessment visits in August and September, 2003, respectively. At the end of the assessment visits, SCOPU reported that the profile of the Proprietor of Lead City University confirmed that it has the capacity and resources to establish a private university. Thereafter, the University was “approved forimmediate take off” by the Board of NUC in December 2003 as a prelude to the ratification by the Federal Executive Council, which was effected on the 16th of February, 2005.
Lead City University, Ibadan hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admissions into the following Senate approved Programmes of the University.
General Requirements
The minimum entry requirement for admission into Lead City University is GCE O/L, SSCE/ NABTEB/ NECO or equivalent credit level pass in five (5) subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained at not more than two sittings. Those with additional (Direct Entry) qualification such as University Diploma, NCE, UMB, OND, GCE ‘A’ Level or equivalent professional qualifications etc are to proceed from part IL However, candidates awaiting result may apply provided evidence of results would be available before resumption. Candidates must possess the approved UTME cut off points.
The University conducts aptitude tests and interviews as part of the screening exercise for all candidates seeking admission into the University.Applicants are to obtain both JAMB and LCU screening forms. Additionally being an IT driven institution, prospective candidates must have the capacity to operate in an ICT environment.
1.) Foundation/ Pre-Degree Programme in all Faculties
On successful completion candidates can proceed to 200 level of programmes of their choice provided they are able to present relevant 5 ‘O’level credit passes at the point of upgrading.
2.) Year Conversion Programme
Holders of University degrees, HND, ACA, ACIB, ANIPR or equivalent qualifications may proceed from Part III. However, the candidate must procure JAMB Direct Entry Form.
3.) Transfer Admissions
Transfer Admissions will be regularized with JAMB. Such Candidates are to produce Admission letters and transcripts from previous Universities.

LCU screening forms can be downloaded from our website and forwarded with a non-refundable fee of Five Thousand Naira (N5,000), payable to Lead City University, Ibadan.
