A U.S. woman gave birth to her own grandson recently, according to reports in the news media.
The woman living in Maine recently gave birth to her grandson, when she acted as a surrogate to her daughter's baby.
Linda Sirois, 49, of Madawaska, Maine delivered, 7 pounds, 14 ounce Madden Brian Heberton, in a hospital in Presque Isle, the local news media reported. Madden is the first son of her daughter Angel, 25, and her husband Brian, 29.
"She's unbelievable," said Angel Hebert, who could not take the baby because of a heart condition, said. "I could not have asked for a better mother. This is a gift so great and selfless she has given to us. She brought her grandson in the world and now we have our beautiful baby. Everyone is super excited."
Sirois said that to be a surrogate mother for her daughter was an easy decision for her to make. "I could not see them going through life without a child, while I am able to help them," she said. "It takes only nine months to give them a child for life. I knew I could do it for them. We heard of a grandmother, 60 years old, who acted as a surrogate for her grandson, so I knew it was possible.
