Three men were arrested for defiling a 36-year-old
woman before shooting her and setting her on fire in
a vacant lot in Georgia on New Year̢۪s Day,
authorities said Sunday.
The bleeding victim was found crying for help in a lot
on Farr Road in Columbus, where the three suspects,
seen below — Joey Garron, 28; Robert Johnson and
Ketorie Glover, both 23 — torched the victim in her
car about 7:40 a.m. on Jan 1, the Ledger-Enquierer
reported.
The wounded woman was rushed to Midtown
Medical Center, where she has since undergone
extensive treatment for her injuries.
Investigators later determined that the victim was at
a party the night before and began a rap contest with
some men outside the house, police said.
But an argument erupted during the competition and
one man pulled out a handgun and forced the woman
inside her vehicle, cops said.
Two others hopped in the car, which the suspects
forced the woman to drive to the vacant lot — where
they s*xually assaulted her before shooting her and
dousing her with gasoline, police said. The suspects
also allegedly fired at the woman as they walked away
from the scene.
Garron, Johnson and Glover — who were all arrested
last week — face a litany of charges that include r*pe,
kidnapping, arson and weapons possession. Police
did not reveal what evidence helped them track down
the suspects.
â€Å“It was not just one thing that led to us to the
suspects,†Columbus police Sgt. Lance Deaton told
the Ledger-Enquierer. â€Å“There’s still more to do.â€
