JAMB Cut Off Mark 2015: Universities, Polytechnics & Colleges

JAMB Cut off marks 2015 for Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education have not yet been released by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board for obvious reasons. Latest update from a JAMB Staff had informed Students Nigeria‘s Editor that JAMB will not release official cut-off marks for 2015 admission until the whole CBT exam is over.

We understand that many of you are keen and eager to know the cut off mark for their schools as to help them decide whether or not they should apply for change of institution or course. We shall therefore make sure that we have our ears on ground to update you once a decision is taken from the top.

For the mean time, you may feel free to browse through our list of cut off marks for last year as listed below. But kindly note that these are just for 2014/2015. We will publish for 2015/2016 later when the exam end by March 21st or thereabout.

If we may have to speculate, recall that JAMB Cut off mark for Federal, State and Private Universities was 180 in 2013/14 session. Same year it was 150 for Polytechnics, Colleges and other degree awarding institutions. This trend went up to 200 (for Federals), 180 (for States and Privates) and between 160/170 for Polytechnics and others in 2014/15.

With available CBT result statistics we have seen, JAMB Cut Off Marks for 2015 may not be far from that of last year. However, let’s keep our fingers crossed. Always check back here on www.gurusloaded.com for the latest.

CBT: This Boy Was Caught Trying To Smuggle A Laptop Through A Window After Writing Exam (See Photos)

It was a show of surprise when a jamb candidate who wrote his JAMB CBT EXAM tried stealing a system from his centre,at a popular higher institution in lagos.
First class newsline learnt that the incident took place when the exam was over,it was gathered that the boy had already placed the laptop on the window from from the interior part of his centre before going outside to finish up his criminal plan before nemesis caught up with him….
The boy who should be in his twenties was said to have been condemned and criticized by the students of AOCOED who they descibed as a dangerous specie…
A student of the school said the incident was so shocking to him, he said the boy would have started praying to God for a successful result instead of stealing a government property,now all the curses he receive will not allow him to pass the exam.

A Police Corporal, Hamza Aliyu, has been remanded in prison for allegedly raping the daughter of a Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The suspect, Aliyu is attached to the state transport and workshop department. The prosecuting police officer, Inspector Hashimu Musa, told the Senior Magistrate’s Court that the suspect lured the victim to the old Berger Quarters opposite Mashasha filling station along Daura road, where he forcefully had s*xual intercourse with her.
He said the action is contrary to Section 283 of the Penal Code.
The judge, Nafisa Bagiwa, ordered that the suspect be remanded in prison and adjourned the case to March 26.

Popular Abuja based gospel musician RhymeStar Ray Ekwu was beaten up last night by two soldiers on mufty for wearing camouflage shorts. He said he was coming back from seeing off a friend when the men accosted him. He said they slapped and beat him with their hands and belt and injured his ears but thankfully, it wasn’t ruptured. He had to be treated in hospital.

Election 2015: If Buhari Is Easy To Defeat, Why Presidency Fears

The author of this opinion article, Ola’ Idowu, writes
about Muhammadu Buhari’s achievements and
ambitions.
He said that if Buhari had been easy to defeat then the
Presidency wouldn’t take him into consideration.
This is one question I’ve been asking myself since the
last article I wrote in support of Muhammadu Buhari’s
presidential ambitions. Prior to writing the article we’ve
had a Special Adviser to the President on Media, Doyin
Okupe, saying Buhari is a serial loser.
I’ve monitored so many other articles and interviews with
many of them insisting Jonathan would have a walk-
over if Buhari were to be the presidential candidate of the
All Progressive Congress (APC) and I ask myself the
question, if Buhari would be easy to defeat, why the fear
from the Presidency, their supporters in the media and
party members within the PDP about Buhari’s
candidature?
Would there be something we’re missing out on with all
the sudden press attacks on Buhari or is that part of the
plan to make him easy to defeat? The truth is Buhari’s
candidature if given the chance as the APC’s presidential
candidate would give Jonathan and all his handlers a
good run for their money, hence why they are all quaking.
The fear of Buhari has become the beginning of wisdom
for many. Let’s remind ourselves again, this is a man
who almost single-handedly started a new party four
months to the 2011 elections and won over 12 million
votes as the candidate of the CPC with 25% of votes
across 16 states compared to Jonathan, with all his
resources and being the candidate of a 12-year-old party
then winning 10 million votes more than Buhari.
In the last 18 months, Buhari has worked assiduously
along with other well-meaning Nigerians across the
different power bases in the country to build a much
stronger party and yet the presidency and the PDP would
have us believe he would be easy to defeat.
So the question remains, why the fear?
Buhari, if selected as the APC presidential candidate,
would surely be hinging his campaign on his zero
tolerance for corruption, which in the past has seen him
come up against allegedly corrupt politicians. Though
many accuse him of jailing mostly southern politicians, I
can’t recall him crating any Southern politician, drugging
him and attempting to bring him back to Nigeria. The fact
that he did that to a Northern politician, Umaru Dikko,
absolves him of a lot of blame. If he was parochial or
partial in his fight against corruption, he would never
have crated a northern politician to bring him to justice
back home, though his administration has always denied
being involved in that landmark drama in Nigeria’s
history.
Thus if he says he would be fighting corruption and
economic sabotage as president in 2015, there is sure
guarantee to believe him compared to this present
administration that has remained aloof even in the face of
massive corruption and economic sabotage going on in
the country. The PDP and the presidency, despite all this,
would however insist that Buhari is easy to defeat. I
would not be interested in arguing over that, I’m just
amused at the amount of fear Buhari’s candidacy is
generating, why the fear if he is easy to defeat?
Its become so ridiculous that you find some of the writers
disingenuously calling for the APC to choose Abubakar
Atiku as their presidential candidate, with a certain
Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi even going as far as
suggesting other names as Rotimi Amaechi, Tunde
Fashola, Rabiu Kwankwaso etc., but surely not Buhari.
But I haven’t seen any of the writers present a
compelling reason why Jonathan should re-contest in
2015 let alone why Nigerians should vote for him.
The whole talk is about that great man Buhari, but I
thought he was supposedly easy to defeat, so why all the
fear? The way supporters of President Jonathan are
calling for the APC to make Atiku their presidential
candidate reminds me of TV adverts of mosquitoes and
roaches begging not to have Baygon or Raid insecticide
sprayed on them should Buhari be chosen instead. If they
feel Buhari would be a softer target to defeat why would
you be discreetly and indirectly begging your opponents
to field a “stronger” candidate in Atiku?
It just doesn’t add up and in my next article I would give
reasons why I believe the APC should cool off on Atiku’s
presidential bid not because he isn’t good enough or
prepared but because it would be playing into the hands
of the PDP. Let Jonathan, his handlers, and his party
stand against the Buhari they have been boasting for
years would be easy to defeat.
Without any iota of doubt corruption and economic
sabotage remain Nigeria’s problems and we can’t make
any progress as nation unless we fix it. Its not just about
sending corrupt people to jail as Buhari did as Head of
State, its by the perception you give to people and the
international community, the confidence you give to
foreign investors that business can be done in Nigeria
without giving bribes, the hope you give to millions of
young Nigerian graduates, engineers, managers, bankers,
business men and women that the country is open for
genuine business and people and indeed the entire nation
can prosper should they choose to be legitimate.
People forget this was some of the perception and hope
that the Buhari/Idiagbon regime gave to Nigerians in
1984 as Head of State. For example under Buhari’s
regime, feasibility and pre-feasibility studies for any
government project was done by Nigerians with no fee
paid to any foreign consultant for a job Nigerians could
do. The only fees paid where in services where Nigerians
lacked the expertise or occupational shortages then in
the sciences, technical skills or advanced technology.
He ensured that turn around maintenance (TAM) on our
refineries was done by Nigerian engineers thereby saving
us foreign exchange. He also started paying off all our
debts as soon as he in came into power, as corrupt
Shehu Shagari’s government was unable to meet any
debt repayments before they were overthrown. By the
time Buhari was overthrown he had paid off over $4
billion of our foreign debts in two years from the huge
$15 billion Shagari had being ill-advised to borrow, and
brought inflation down from runaway 40% to less than
5.5%. Also by the time Buhari’s regime was usurped by
IBB we were running a budget surplus all in less than two
years, the first and only time that has happened since
after the oil boom of the 70s in Nigeria.
Since August 1985, when IBB came into power Nigeria
has always ran a budget deficit consistently, possibly
under the late Sani Abacha we had a budget neutral once
but consistently its been a deficit. Nigerians don’t even
talk about something that is a big issue in every serious
country around the world including Puerto Rico, where its
a big political talking point. The Nigerian budget under
the PDP since 1999 has always been a deficit despite oil
prices at an all-time high. Under Jonathan since 2010,
we’ve consistently ran a budget deficit (which for those
who don’t know means we spend more than we earn as a
nation to the detriment of the economy and the masses)
and under Buhari we had a budget surplus (we earn more
than we spend as a nation to the betterment of the
economy and the masses). Yet they insist Buhari is easy
to defeat, so why the fear?
I leave with feedback I got from a reader on my last
article titled: “A Closing Argument for Buhari’s Case”.
Chimezie Okezie, writing from
chimezie_hse@yahoo.co.uk, wondered why the APC is
shying away from building a fanatical followership
across the country for Buhari like he has in the North,
and why they are treating the issue of unseating
President Jonathan with kid gloves. He advocates that
the APC should mobilise their registered members to
collect their permanent voters cards, and verify they are
doing so.
Okezie posits that the APC should start recruiting vowed
loyal members as polling booth agents across the
country and start training them on how to counter rigging
and arm them with readily available technologies that
can be used to capture voting (declared results) in each
booth and polling unit, with results collated in real time
at the APC central campaign coordinating office.
This would ensure that results come in live to APC and
there is no way election results can be rigged by the PDP
across the country as the results are being collated from
each polling unit in real time by the APC, should they
deploy the technology Okezie advocates.
He finishes by saying: “If we get our act (APC, Buhari
supporters, and Nigerian masses I believe) right, I will
close my eyes, beat my chest and tell you that Buhari
has won.” This is coming from an ordinary Nigerian. The
question I need president Jonathan’s handlers,
supporters, media supporters and the PDP to answer is,
if Buhari is easy to defeat as they claim, why the fear?

Good News: Boko Haram Releases Kidnapped Women, Girls

Members of the terrorists group, Boko Haram have
reportedly released the over 50 women and girls that
were recently kidnapped from Waga Mangoro and
Madagali, villages between Adamawa and Borno states.

Vanguard reports that this was made known in a
telephone interview with villagers from their alleged hid-
outs. The villagers, who said the exact number of the
released captives, could not be ascertained hinted that
about 45 girls were still being held by the sect members.

However, relatives of some of the abducted women who
were later released by the insurgents also told journalist
in Yola that some of the girls have been turned to cooks
while others were married off immediately to some of the
sect’s members.
A relative to the one of the released women who did not
want his name in print revealed that: “Initially, the
insurgents captured 80 girls and women whom they later
loaded into their vans and zoomed off into the bushes.
Later in the night, the insurgents separated the elderly
women from the girls and released the women, who are
now languishing in the forest because they could not
relocate the towns because they were razed down by the
insurgents.”
The relative, who disclosed that they were confused
because few hours after the alleged cease fire agreement
between the Federal Government and Boko Haram
insurgents were announced, the sect members continued
to abduct more girls.

“We are at a loss about government’s insincerity on the
whole issue and we urge them to rescue our daughters
without further delay as we are ready to die searching for
our missing ones,” the relative said.
Meanwhile, there was tension on Thursday, when news
of the abduction of another 40 girls in Adamawa state
broke after the earlier report of 60 women that were
kidnapped from two towns in the state by Boko Haram.
However, these recent attacks have raised the questions
if there was ever a ceasefire agreement between the
Nigerian government and the Boko Haram as announced
on October 17, by the presidency and the Federal
Government.
It would be recalled that a bomb blast reported occurred
in a popular bus station in Azare area of Bauchi State on
Thursday, leaving at least 10 people dead.

Ibadan Mother Claims Her Baby Born With Qur’an In His Hand

An Islamic preacher in Ibadan, Oyo State, Dr Dawood
Amoo, has described the birth of a baby boy holding a
pocket-size Qur’an in his hand.

Amoo told journalists that the boy was unique, because
mini Qur’an contained all the 114 chapters in the holy
book.
The baby’s mother went to deliver him at a church
because she feared of hospital bills.
The woman who took the boy saw the ‘strange’ object
and threw it away as something devilish, but soon the
baby became restless and continued to clutch and empty
fist.
The child’s parents who were not practicing any religion
before, now say they will revert to Islam as this was a
sign directly from Allah.
The baby, who was named Ismael, attracted huge crowd
when the news filtered around town that he was born
with a holy book.
The residence of the baby’s parents has become
something like a mecca as Ibadan people go there to
have a glimpse of the little boy.
Nigerians react in different ways to such ‘wonder’. Some
of them believe that wonders shall not end.

My Neighbors Want To Destroy Me - Man Accused Of Impregnating Daughter

Co-tenants of Mr. Ismaila Ladoja, who lives in one of the
rooms of a 10-room apartment in Alagbado area of
Lagos, have always suspected something unusual was
going on between him and his 22-year-old daughter.
Ife’s house
Punch reports that Ladoja, who is a bricklayer has
always been in the microscopic eyes of other tenants
because they all believe he sleeps with his first daughter,
Ife, who is 22 years of age. Although no one wanted to
bell the cat even when they saw signs that the little girl
was bleeding, some of them however spoke with Punch
anonymously.
The report which includes lots of accusations and
counter accusations, is said to have involved many of the
co-tenants confronting the bricklayer a number of times
but his denial made many believe that it was truly a
figment of their imaginations until they noticed the young
girl’s tummy protruding which was followed by bleeding.
“We noticed over the last few months that Ife’s tummy
was growing bigger. We knew something was wrong but
one day, we noticed that she was bleeding,” a neighbor
who spoke on condition of anonymity, said.
One of the occupants of the house alleged that Ladoja
and the girl’s mother might have colluded to abort Ife’s
pregnancy. Making it known why she thinks the mother
of the young girl might be involved in the matter, the
neighbor said:
“He beats his wife regularly. The woman dare not talk. In
fact, when she was asked about it, she flatly denied the
allegations. “Everybody in the compound knew what was
going on. So, the girl was kept indoors for about a week.
We noticed that she fainted a few times when she was
kept at home. So, they rushed her to the hospital.
“We asked the man where he took the girl to but he said
she had been taken to a hospital because she was ill but
would not disclose where. How can we report to the
police when we have not been able to catch him on top of
his daughter?
“ Sometimes, he would send his other children out of the
house, and when we ask the children why, they tell us
that their father is inside with their elder sister and had
asked them to go play outside,” one of the tenants said.
Although the tenants have not been able to produce
evidences to buttress their claims aside from the
observations, It was made known that the man was
accused of doing same where he was living before he
moved to this present apartment he is living with his wife
and 7 children.
When one of his former neighbors on 4, Ajibola Street
was contacted, the former tenant who like the rest,
pleaded anonymity, alleged that Ladoja had been
suspected to be sleeping with his daughter when he was
living there for a long time before he moved to the
present apartment.
“Do you expect the wife to tell you the truth? She is just
a poor woman who is helpless and does not want to put
her husband in trouble. He was always locked up with
the girl while the other children stayed outside when we
were living together. He always denied sleeping with the
girl.“But the girl was always moody. She cried
sometimes. When we asked what was wrong with her,
she would never say it,” he said.
When Ladoja’s landlord, an elderly woman who
identified herself as Mrs. Shorinolu, was contacted, she
made it known that although she doesn’t stay in the
house, but if he is found wanting, he should be arrested
instantly to face the law. However, Mrs. Shorinolu’s
daughter, a headmistress of a school, who also oversees
the welfare of the house made it known that various
reports reached her over the man’s actions which made
her gave him a quit notice but all to no avail.
When Ife’s mother, who is also Ladoja’s wife was
contacted, she denied the accusations saying she trusted
her husband and that he cannot do anything like that.
The 40-year-old woman said:
“We suffer so much and my husband labours day and
night to put food on the table. We have seven children
and have been using a one-room apartment since we got
married 22 years ago. So, what do we have that anybody
would envy to the extent of cooking up such allegation?
“It is a total lie that she fainted or was bleeding. She only
had malaria which became really serious and we had to
take her to someone who treated her.”
When the wife was asked to give the phone number of the
doctor at Holyfield Hospital, who treated her daughter.
She said her daughter was not treated at Holyfield.
“I took her to a drug store owner, who gave her drips and
few drugs. Ife currently lives with my mother. “How can
someone sleep with his own child? Is it wrong to love
one’s child unconditionally?”
The woman who began to cry, lamenting that she had no
idea why her family was being victimized even though
they were poor could not however give the contact of her
daughter saying she needs to inform the girl first. She
also claimed she does not know the phone number of her
daughter. She also declined giving the address of where
the girl was staying.
When Ladoja himself was later contacted, Ladoja
explained that he had no idea why anybody would think
he would do such a thing to his child.
“Why would I as a Yoruba man do such a thing to my
adult child? May God punish those people who have
been saying those bad things about me. They simply
hate me, ” he said.
Asked why he took his daughter to hospital and why she
was bleeding, the bricklayer said, “She simply had
malaria. Truly, we had kept her indoors for some days. It
is just another lie by my neighbours that she was
bleeding. “ After some days and her situation deteriorated,
we rushed her to the hospital. We had given her drug for
her malaria but it did not seem to work.”
Ladoja who said he could not remember the name of the
hospital where her daughter is receiving treatment said:
“God will bless you for calling me. I am really happy you
want to publish this because the world needs to
understand the lie this people have been spreading about
me. Did anyone of them catch me red-handed sleeping
with my daughter?”

Nigerian Churches Focus On Money, Not On Poverty

Churches are always at the forefront of development.
Various religion-related centres promote building
schools, hospitals, vocational skills acquisition centres,
farms and cottage industries, and many.
One should also note various scholarships, free books,
food, clothes and even shelter. A church wants to ensure
that its members live good and faithful lives before they
pass away.
However, the modern church slowly abandons old ideals,
Vanguard notices and gives several clear examples:
Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, July 6, 2014: A priest at a church
offers the congregation to appreciate God with various
contributions: N200,000 – special blessing; then
N150,000, N100,000 and so on, to N50,000 to N5,000
and below.
At the end of the day, the priest made a general blessing
for the entire church. Apparently, nobody came out for
N200,000 blessing.
Pastor David Oyedepo of Living Faith Mission (Winners
Chapel) owns several private jets, Gulfstream G550,
Gulfstream G450, Gulfstream V and LearJet with
combined value of $98.3million (N15.9billion).
The General Overseer of RCCG Pastor E.A. Adeboye also
owns Gulfstream V private jet. The President of Christian
Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ayo Oritsejafor, leased one
of his flying machines to cash smugglers for illegal
weapons purchase in South Africa.
The Pentecostal churches are in the lead for revenue
drive. The income is big, but the programmes to help the
poor are not big enough. Well-established churches keep
opening private universities. Their fees range from N1.5
million to N3 million per session, so only the wealthy can
afford it.
At the same time, there are 10 to 80 per cent discounts
for children and wards of the university’s staff, children
of pastors and some indigent church members.
Dr. Joseph Antyo of the University of Mkar, a private
university in Benue State owned by the Evangelical
Church of West Africa (ECWA) however believes that
poverty issues in Nigeria cannot be solved without
participation of churches.
“Churches should see poverty eradication as a part of
their mission of evangelisation, since not only spiritual
but also material salvation is needed to truly free
someone. Some of the money that some churches have
should be made available to their members in form of
loans and other poverty alleviation measures, and the
churches should be able to build on their greatest
strengths which are trust and commitment rather than
dependency.
“Churches should also motivate their members to work
or to help create employment, since the lack of it is
probably the greatest bane of Africa today,” he
concluded.

Military Arrests Soldiers Caught Leaking Secrets To Boko Haram

Boko Haram can not really thrive without inside
help, hence the military need to be more vigilant.
I heard they have arrested several soldiers, who
were discovered to have leaked vital security
information on the troops’ strategies and tactics
to Boko Haram that led to a series of ambush and
killing of over 30 Nigerian soldiers by the rag-tag
terrorists in recent times.
Sources say ,most of the arrested soldiers serve as
orderlies or ADCs to Commanders of Troops on
the field. Can you imagine that?
“The situation became so bad that there was
mutual suspicion among fellow commanders, the
Brigade headquarters and even the Division
headquarters.
But at last, the moles were found out to be some
of the orderlies and aides of Commanders.
What they do is that after operational briefings
and troops take off, these moles immediately pass
on the information through calls.”
According to Vanguard , the alleged moles among
the soldiers leaked the information on the
deployment of soldiers from Maimalari Barracks
in April this year to the terrorists which led to an
ambush and killing of so many soldiers of the 101
Battalion that consequently led to soldiers’ mutiny
and the shooting at the General Officer
Commanding (GOC) 7 Division, Major General
Ahmed Mohammed.
His armoured official car saved his life.
It further gathered that the activities of these
moles may have been responsible for the recent
shooting of the Nigerian Airforce Alpha Jet on
September 12 which took off from Yola airport
and was reported missing until Boko Haram
terrorists said they shot it down and killed one of
its pilot, which was confirmed by the Facebook
account of friends of the military.

source said Commanders on the field had for

deployment, type of weaponry and fall back
tactics easily filtered out to the terrorists to the
extent that soldiers’ movement, timing of
deployment, and routes to take, became known to
Boko Haram insurgents.
Asked why it was difficult to discover the traitors
before now, the source said, “Who will suspect
that an orderly or the ADC of a Commander will

He does everything for the Commander and he is

the terrorists from the Adamawa axis recently
shot themselves in parts of their bodies that were
not life threatening with a view to escape being
drafted to the battle field to confront Boko
Haram terrorists.
After allegedly shooting themselves in the arm,
hip, foot and making sure that the bullets did not
affect any bones in these parts of their bodies,
the officers ran to a military hospital and claimed
that they were shot by terrorists.
Medical experts attached to the hospital in
Vintim, after carrying out several checks and x-
rays on the gunshot wounds, discovered that the
officers had ‘clean gunshot wounds’ which meant
the injuries were 99% self inflicted.
Vanguard gathered that the Army High Command
ordered that further medical tests be carried out
to be doubly sure and that the x-rays were sent
to Abuja where experts did further analysis and
came out with the same results of ‘Clean Gunshot
Wounds’.

Bishop Oyedepo Reacts To Being Named Richest Pastor In The World

Winners Chapel G.O Bishop David Oyedepo who
recently turned 60, has reacted to the Forbes List
of World’s Richest pastors where he was placed at
No.1 with an estimated worth of about
$150million.
Asked about Forbes’ estimate of his fortune,
Bishop Oyedepo told Reuters that he doesn’t know
how Forbes arrived at their figure but says he’s
blessed…
“For me, to have fortune means someone who
has what he needs at any point in time. I don’t
see myself as having $150 million stacked up
somewhere. Whatever way they found their
figures, I am only able to say I am blessed by
the Lord .”
Asked if churches should pay tax considering
how much they make, Bishop Oyedepo said;
“There is no single government input on this
premises.
We supply our water, we make our roads, then
you … say: ‘Let’s tax them’. For what?”
