ASUU President Fagge Says Strike Will Be Suspended Next Week
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) will suspend the Six months strike next week after the union signed a Memorandum of Understanding to that effect with Federal Government on Wednesday.
ASUU President, Dr. Nasir Fagge, who signed the agreement on behalf of the union, confirmed to journalists that the strike would be called off next week following
agreement signed by both parties.
Fagge said the MoU contained all the demands presented by the union.

A three-year-old boy drowned his newborn twin brother and left the other
permanently brain damaged as he tried to bathe them while their
alcoholic mother slept, Daily Mail UK reports
The boy said he wanted to make his siblings 'nice and clean' after their mother passed out having drunk four cans of super-strength lager.
The shocking sequence of events emerged in court when the mother - who cannot be identified for legal reasons - was given a one-year suspended prison sentence for neglect.
She had sought refuge at a Merseyside home with her children after escaping a relationship of domestic violence, Liverpool Crown Court heard Thursday. The jury heard she slept in a single bed with her eldest son, with the newborn babies cradled together in a drawer.
The mother, an insomniac, fell asleep in the afternoon after drinking four cans of Special Brew, which is nine per cent alcohol.
The toddler woke up and ran a 10-inch bath of cold water.
The mother found her infant children naked and unconscious, not breathing, when she awoke.
Judge Mrs Justice Cox said:
'The drink certainly played a part in you going to sleep and
failing to wake up when the toddler woke up and got out of bed. While
you slept the toddler decided to make the twins nice and clean and he
put them in the bath.When he woke you up you found both of your babies
floating in the bath water. They were cold, naked and they weren’t
breathing.'
The mother called police and paramedics, telling a 999 operator that she had found her newborn twins unresponsive.
Both babies were given CPR and were taken to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in West Derby, Liverpool, where they were put on life support. Days later, one of the boys died in his father's arms. His brother, who suffered a cardiac arrest, was left with severe brain damage.
The court heard he is likely to be severely affected by cerebral palsy and will need round-the-clock care for the rest of his life.
David McLaughlin, defending, said the mother will be haunted by what happened forever.
He said: 'She bears full responsibility – not a day goes by when she doesn’t think about what happened. Every morning she wakes up with a vision of her babies’ faces in the bath, a vision that will haunt her forever-more. She wants it to be known that she holds herself fully responsible for what occurred and she wants her toddler son to know, if ever that time should arise when he is older, that through her plea of guilty she accepts full responsibility for what occurred and no blame should be laid against him.'
She was handed a one-year prison sentence, suspended for two years, and a supervision order after pleading guilty to three counts of neglect.

Shocker: 2 APC Governors Attend Secret Meeting with Jonathan
The two governors are Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State, Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State. They were both driven into the premises of First Lady Conference Hall, venue of the meeting, in the same car at about 9pm.
A source told teleloaded that Jonathan has been begging them not to work with his enemies...
They arrived for the meeting about an hour after one of the aggrieved PDP governors, Babangida Aliyu of Niger State, arrived the venue without his partner, Governor Sule Lamido.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees of the PDP, Chief Tony Anenih, who also arrived before them went to confer with the President inside his residence before joining them at the venue.
Jonathan and Vice-President Namadi Sambo arrived at about 9.50pm. At 10pm, some PDP governors who had earlier met at the Akwa Ibom State Governors Lodge in Asokoro arrived the venue of the meeting.
President Jonathan was said to have personally begged Kano State Governor, Kwankwaso to change his mind because it would be a disaster for him if PDP lose Rivers, Lagos and Kano in 2015.
I hear the two governors told him that they just attended the meeting out of respect and cannot take any action until they discuss with the rest of their colleagues.

Five Really Simple Tricks and Tips that Solve a Lot of PC Problems
Here are five that I have used over and over. They are probably well known to Gizmo’s readers but they are so useful that it’s worth mentioning them here so you can pass them along to your less knowledgeable acquaintances. They require no technical expertise whatever, are easy to remember, and can be used by anybody.
1. Disconnect and reconnect devices that aren’t working
This simple procedure often fixes problems for all sorts of electronic devices. A common example is the USB port that does not seem to work. Unplug and plug back in the USB mouse or keyboard or whatever USB device is not functioning.
2. Make sure that all your cables and power cords are tightly connected
Computer won’t come on? Maybe the power cord isn’t quite plugged in or the cat loosened it. Video not working? Maybe a connector is loose. Sounds ridiculously simple but a loose connection causes problems a lot more often than you might think. Every savvy user of electronics learns to check connections. A corollary is to make sure all the power switches are on.
3. The master solution to a lot of Windows problems
Windows has a frustrating variety of glitches that can occur but Windows also has a surprising capacity for fixing itself. The trick is to reboot. As experienced PC users know, rebooting will more likely than not fix a momentary hiccup. I've been asked many times for help with a Windows problem that was fixed just by restarting the PC. If all beginners were taught this, it would save a lot of time and trouble.
4. Fix a lost Internet connection
I can’t count how many times I have found that a lost Internet connection could be restored by simply turning the router off for 30 seconds and then turning it back on. If you have a second box with a modem, turn that off as well. Then turn the modem box back on, followed by the router.
5. Second way to fix a lost Internet connection
Many laptops have a sliding switch on the side that turns the wireless radio on and off. It is easy to unknowingly slide the switch to the “off” position. I have restored a lost connection quite a few times by just putting this switch back to “on”.
These simple tricks may be elementary but knowing them can save a lot of time and anguish. They may not be new to Gizmo’s readers but there are hundreds of millions of home PC users who know almost nothing about the computers they use. Pass these tricks along to your friends and family - then they won’t have to ask you for help as often.
How to Print from Your Android Tablet or Smartphone
Smartphones and tablets are very handy but what if you want to print
something? Maybe you’ve got a document or a picture that you want a copy
of. What to do then? Printing from a mobile device is not as
straightforward as from a standard PC but here is one method for Android
platforms.
It uses a free service from Google called “Cloud Print”. You’ll need a Google account and a separate PC with a Chrome browser and an attached printer. You’ll also need a free app for your Android device.
First, configure the PC that has a printer attached.
1. Open the Chrome browser.
2. If not already signed in, sign in to your Google account by clicking the menu button in the far-right upper corner and then select “Sign in with Google.”
3. After signing in, return to the Chrome menu page and click “Settings”.
4. At the bottom of the Settings page, click “Show advanced settings”.
5. Scroll down to the section “Google Cloud Print” and click the button “Add printers”.
6. A confirmation page will open. Click “Add printer(s)”. Internet-enabled printers will not need this step.
7. A Cloud Print web page will open where you can make further configurations of your printers, if desired.
8. The Google Cloud Print section of the Chrome Advanced Settings page will now have two buttons, “Disconnect printers” and “Manage printers”.

When the reporter got to accident scene, the groom was no where in sight. His elder sister confirmed that they were coming from the wedding reception of the couple when the unfortunate accident happened.
She was seen kneeling down and thanking God for their escape but refused to give the name of the couple.

The UK High Court found in October that HTC had infringed Nokia¡¯s European patent number 0998024, described as a ¡®modular structure for a transmitter and a mobile station¡¯. As a result, Judge Richard Arnold ruled today that HTC can no longer sell its One Mini smartphone in the UK.
HTC had tried to argue that the microchips found to infringe Nokia¡¯s patent were ¡°a very small component¡± and therefore did not justify a sales ban.
It also claimed that HTC does not compete with Nokia in the UK, because its smartphones run Google¡¯s Android operating system while Nokia¡¯s running Microsoft¡¯s Windows Phone OS.
However, Nokia dismissed these arguments, claiming that it has ¡°lost sales of Lumia phones since the launch of the One range.¡± HTC sold about 715,000 smartphones worth about 0„5221 million in the UK between January and September, according to court documents.
