45-year-Old Mother Arrested for Selling her Daughters' Virginity For N35,000!!

A mother of 14 in Colombia tried to make ends
meet, police say, by pushing her daughters into
"hell" and selling their virginity for a couple hundred
dollars.
Margarita de Jesus Zapata Moreno, 45, was arrested
this week together with a 51-year-old contractor who
police believe impregnated one of the young
daughters.
She broke down in tears when she stood in front of
the cameras after being arrested in Bogota, the
Colombian capital. The Bogota Metropolitan Police
say Zapata sold the virginity of 12 daughters to
much older men seeking to have s*x with young
virgins.
Authorities also say the suspect would begin selling
her daughters to men as soon as the girls turned 12
years old. She charged anywhere between 300,000
and 400,000 Colombian Pesos ($160 to $212) for a
virgin.
But Zapata strongly denies the accusation.
Colombian authorities often show high-profile
suspects to the media shortly after arresting them.
When Zapata was standing in front of the cameras
Wednesday, one of the reporters shouted a question
to her: "Did you prostitute your daughters?" She
answered: "No, my darling."
Colombian police say they learned of this alleged
case of abuse because one of the alleged victims
stepped forward. Authorities say one of the suspect's
daughters forced into prostitution gave birth to a
baby boy when she was 14. She had refused her
mother's orders to have an abortion.
Colonel Carlos Melendez, a Bogota Metropolitan
Police spokesman, told CNN affiliate Caracol TV the
young girl described to investigators the "hell" in
which she lived when she was still a prepubescent
girl, about being forced to have s*x with much older
men in her home and about a life of abuse and
neglect.
"She was a minor and she still had the courage to
report the abuse and also to refuse to have an
abortion. That's when this investigation started, from
the threats of her own mother," Melendez said.
The investigation took more than a year to complete
because the only witness willing to testify, the 14-
year-old girl, now 16, disappeared, apparently
because she feared her mother would kill her for
going to the police.
After she reappeared, she also told authorities about
a man who had s*x with her and got her pregnant.
Police arrested a 51-year-old man who investigators
say fathered the son of the girl who was 14 years old
when the baby was born. The suspect declined to
comment at Wednesday's police presentation.
Police are asking the rest of the daughters to provide
more information about this case. "Those who are
watching or listening to us, we would like to ask
them to come to the police so that they give us
information about transpired in this case," Melendez
said.
Police investigators say Zapata also forced her older
daughters to drink alcohol and do drugs. Some ended
up working as prostitutes and are missing, police
said.
Police say those two arrests are only the beginning.
Investigators say they will also build cases against
the men who were having s*x with these minors.
According to authorities, only two of Margarita de
Jesus Zapata Moreno's 14 children were not forced
into prostitution. They were the two youngest -- an
11-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl -- and they have
been placed in the custody of a Colombian
government child protection agency.

JAMB Prepares for 2014 UTME - Begins registration in November

As the 2013 admission processes for various institutions gradually rounds up, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board JAMB has begun preparations to kick off the 2014 UTME registration and subsequently the Exams.

This preparation is visible as the board uploads and shows off the brand new registration portal at http://www.jamb.org.ng/Unifiedtme/.

According to reports that Myschool Team gathered from staff of the board, the academic brochures which guides students on courses offered in various institutions and their requirements are currently being distributed to JAMB offices nationwide.

The newly designed portal is expected to allow for easier registration especially for those who took the 2013 UTME and can still remember their JAMB registration number. Please note that registration for this exam can never be done using a mobile phone, neither are the candidates expected to register for the exam by themselves.

All candidates who are to sit for the 2014 exam are to visit only authorized business centres and cyber cafes to get registered even if they know how to do it by themselves at home. Please also ensure that the business centre you are going to register for your exam has the DIGITAL PERSONA Scanner for Biometric Finger Print Capture.

The 2014 UTME will feature 3 types of exam as you may have already known;
Computer Based Test - CBT
Paper and Pen Test - PPT
Dual Based Test - DBT
As at the time of writing this report, no official date has been announced for the exam and there is also no exact date when registration will begin in November.

TRAGIC: Nollywood Actor Dies After Brief Illness

Nollywood actor, Ray Daniels Okeugo died on October 25, 2013, Friday, after a brief illness. This has been reported by 24/7 Nigeria News Update.




The nature of the sickness that took the actor away was not made known to us as at press time.

Ray Daniels Okeugo starred a number of soap operas and home videos before taking into photography.

Late Okeugo was a founding member of the Invisible Borders Trans-African Photographers and was strongly involved in the organisation’s activities.

A statement by the organisation describes Okeugo as a man who will be remembered for his unquenchable energy and one who exudes the demeanour of “the last man standing.”

“Everyone who knew him can attest to the fact that he carried within him an undying urge towards selflessness. He made himself readily available and good to go no matter the situation. We will miss him everyday henceforth, and nothing will ever be the same with his indefinite absence.”

Okeugo’s burial arrangement will be made by the Lagos Chapter of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria led by Victor Osuagwu.

Ray Daniels Okeugo was 33 and had recently returned from a Photography master class in Sudan before falling ill due to what sources say was a kidney infection.

Nigerians To Experience End Of The World On Sunday As Partial Solar Eclipse Hits Africa

NASRDA, Nigeria's National Space Research and
Development Agency has made a partial solar
eclipse occurrence prediction for different part of
Nigeria on Sunday November 3rd, 2013.

According to Professor Seidu Mohammed, the DG of
the agency, eclipse is an astronomical event that
occurs when an astronomical object is temporarily
obscured.

This occurs either by passing into the shadow of
another body or by having another body pass
between it and the viewer as seen from the earth.
Mohammed advised Nigerians not to panic
unnecessarily as nothing untoward would happen on
that day.

''These things are natural phenomena; Nigerians
should not be afraid; the agency has responsibility to
the nation, hence the reason for the early warning
signal,'' he said.

Mohammed said that the partial eclipse would not
affect the airspace but advised Nigerians not to think
that the world would come to an end because of the
occurrence.

Prof. Opara Fidelis, Director, Centre for Basic Space
Science, said that different parts of the country
would witness the eclipse at different times of the
day.

He said that for instance, Abuja would witness it at
1p.m., Lagos, 12:30 p m.; Kano, 1.07 p m. and
Enugu, 1.04 p.m.

Fidelis, however, advised Nigerians to wear
sunglasses to view the occurrence, adding that the
glasses would protect their eyes from damage that
might arise.

Meanwhile, the NASDRA director-general said that
the agency would provide such glasses for some
Nigerians, especially children and selected Nigerians.

He said that the entire African continent would be
affected by the partial eclipse, while some other
parts of the world would witness total eclipse.
Mohammed urged Nigerians to go about their normal
businesses as such occurrences happened
occasionally.

The same occurrence is expected in April 2014,
March 2015 and Sept 2016.

One truth remains, when you first get into a relationship, your partner will not notice it because of the infatuation kind of love that make all thing seems perfect in your partner. Not until both of you start the real commitment to your relationship, you and your partner may not notice it.

It is easier for you to deny that you have a bad habit than to accept that you may be faulty in the way you carry on your life. Of course there are some bad habits that can be put up with until they begin to sow seed which worsen the whole thing. Then, the reality will be dawn on you and by that time, there is no hiding place, the habit cannot be condone and the next thing is looking forward to go separate ways because it will be too late to change such habits.

The use of silent treatment

How many times do you feel unappreciated when someone is supposed to response to you when you needed responses? You may think it makes no sense to always thank your partner for every single or little thing they do. There is tendency that you will also forget when they do something big for you and before you know it, it will all turn into expectation instead. But you should remember that, every good unappreciated gesture will only come back to hurt and you no longer receive such good gesture.
Getting annoy easily;

Even though it may be part of you as you’re growing up which is sometimes understandable, but your ability to manage your temper will help you in a lot of ways in your relation. If you find yourself getting irritated with your lover in every little argument and you really don’t know how it all come about. Chances are there’re subtle reasons at the back of it all why you get easily annoyed. You may have bottled up some form of anger against him or her that resulted in prompting your irritation about them.

Instead of putting up irritable manner when that happens, sit yourself down and ask why you always get fury every time. Or let your partner knows about it, tell your partner you don’t understand why you’ll always feel that way. Trust me, you’ll feel a lot easier the very second you made it known to your partner

This is much more acceptable when at the initial stage of every relationship. Because you’ll want to know how really well your partner meant for you, you’ll want them to prove their love for you and all sort of test to convince you if you’ll be going ahead with such relationship. This should all stop at that level, don’t even try to take it further than the onset of your relationship. It will irritate your partner big time and you may be drawing the battle line unknowingly to you.
Putting all and every blame on your partner;

Some people have formed the habit of not accepting responsibility for anything, even if they are at fault, they will push it all to their partner. It has become a habit and yes, it is easy to point accusing finger to your partner for every mess but you should know that, by doing this, your partner will feel helpless, angry and get hurt. You’ll need to learn to accept blame even if it’s a little. Learn to share responsibility and accept your fault, by doing this; you’re giving your partner all the emotional support they badly need at that particular time.
The “I don’t want to talk about it” habit;

Dodging discussions, especially if it’s nerve-racking may look like the easy thing to do at a particular instant. But stuffing all the difficult talk in some dark corner will only leave you more worried, and leave your partner perturbed and angry. As difficult as a particular choice or a relationship discussion may be, you can solve it only by talking about it with your lover.

95 Nigerian Cocaine Drug UsersArrested In Ebonyi State, NDLEA Warns ParentsOf Addicts

The Ebonyi command of the National Drug Law
Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Tuesday announced
the arrest of 95 drug suspects from January to date.
The Commandant of the agency in the state, Mr Raph
Igwenagu, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in
Abakaliki that it also seized 350 kilogrammes of illicit
drugs during the period.
“The NDLEA in Ebonyi also during the year
counselled, rehabilitated and discharged 40 drug
users while six drug dependent persons are still
undergoing rehabilitation,” he said.
Igwenagu said that 10 suspects were convicted while
30 cases were undergoing prosecution and 15 cases
still under investigation.
According to him, the prevalence of illicit drug use
among the youth is on the high side as a result of
their being susceptible and more vulnerable than
adults.
He urged parents and guardians whose children and
wards had become victims of drug abuse to bring
them to the agency for care, treatment and
rehabilitation.
He explained that the agency had undertaken to
appraise the menace of drugs in the society and the
ills inherent in drug trafficking and abuse.
Igwenagu said the war against illicit drug trafficking
and abuse was a collective one and called on
traditional rulers, religious organisations, security
agencies and other stakeholders to join hands in
tackling them.
He also commanded the Ebonyi government for
making efforts to reposition its health sector.

HURRAY- German Government To Supply Electricity To 4 Universities In Nigeria

The Secretary, National Energy Council, Alhaji
Ibrahim Njiddah, said on Tuesday that the German
government had offered to provide electricity to four
universities in Nigeria.
Njiddah told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in an
interview in Abuja that the gesture was part of the
council’s Renewable Energy Programme sponsored
by the German government.
He said that 25 megawatts of electricity would be
provided to the selected universities under the
project.
Njiddah listed the University of Ibadan, Modibbo
Adama University of Technology Yola, Usman
Danfodio University, Sokoto and the Federal
University, Otuoke, Bayelsa, as beneficiaries.
He said that the University of Ibadan would be
provided with 10 megawatts of electricity, while
Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola,
Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, and Federal
University, Otuoke, would get five megawatts each.
“With the support of the German government, we
will deliver power to the selected four universities in
the areas like the laboratory, classroom, hostel and
the medical clinic.”
According to him, the project is to ensure that the
universities function optimally.
Njiddah said the project was purely assistance from
the German government under the Nigerian-German
Energy Partnership to facilitate acquisition of skills as
well as good quality of education.
“It is also in the pursuit of the Federal Government
plan to have uninterrupted power supply, especially
to the higher institutions of learning.
“In addition to that, some few universities are going
to benefit from the renewable energy centres to
enhance capacity building and knowledge transfer.”
Njiddah said that Usman Dan Fodio University,
Sokoto, had an existing renewable centre that would
be boosted through the expansion of its capacity.
“The World Bank is doing something in Usman Dan
Fodio University, Sokoto, and we want to augment
what the bank is doing there.
“The same centre will be established in Modibbo
Adama University of Technology, Yola.
“Already, there is existing student and staff
exchange programme between the university and
some select universities in Germany.”
Dr Jeremy Gaines, Coordinator, Nigerian-German
Energy Partnership, also told NAN in a separate
interview that the project was borne out of the
German government’s plan to assist in developing
educational sector in Nigeria
“We are going to start with the University in Sokoto
because it already had a renewable energy faculty
and we wish to support it by building a pilot plant
that will deliver enough electricity to the institution.
“The idea behind it is to develop skill acquisition in
the schools and platform for training in renewable
energy.
“Already, there is exchange programme between the
university in Yola and some universities in Germany.”

150 Arrested In Kano ForSagged Pants And Sporty Hair

Kano Police Force have begun to
strictly enforce Islamic law. Last
week, over 150 people were
arrested for indecent dressing.

Some people in Nigeria's second
city were picked up "sagging their pants too low," or
"sporting hair styles inspired by
prominent international football
players," a spokesman for Kano's
Sharia Police, Mohammed Yusuf
Yola, noted to the Associated Press. This strict enforcement of the
Sharia law is a part of the
government's discipline method
and curbing immorality.

Other civilians were jailed and fined for
sagging their pants too low; the law sees this act as an influence
of some American hip hop
artists, which is unacceptable. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Kano
state Governor gave this 'anti-
crime' order to the police
department, in his effort to
purge the city of immoral acts
and practices.

The Sharia Police (Hisbah) Director, General Abba
Sufi noted that this patrol or
order will continue in the weeks
ahead. "We have arrested 150 men and
women in the past week,
including prostitutes and their
boyfriends, transvestites,
alcoholics and those engaged in
indecent dressing in contravention of the sharia legal
code," Yola told AFP.

Given that the governor is
viewed as a moderate leader
who has failed to impose the
Sharia rules, some politicians see
this order as his response.

However, Yola, the police spokesman insisted that the
operation was launched "to
reverse disturbing trends in the
city of some five million people
and is targeting people of
various faiths. Those arrested include Muslims and non-Muslims
and we treat them equally
because this is about morality,"
he said.

Some of the arrested civilians
were released after paying fines
ranging from 10,000-15,000
Naira ($60-$70). The spokesman
also added that the people who
could not afford the fine remains in jail . He would not specify how
many people are currently
detained.

I won't be surprise if several
states follow Kano's trend and
impose Sharia laws even on its
Christian minorities. Today, it
targets is immorality. Tomorrow,
who knows? While other terrible crimes like murder, molestation,
theft, or fraud exist, Kano is
more concerned about 'sagging
pants'.

UPDATES: Jonathan Sets Up Panel to Investigate Stella Oduah; Dino Melaye Arrested

Men of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested Dino Melaye following his decision to go ahead with a planned protest over the N255m car scandal involving Minister of Aviation, Mrs Stella Oduah. Dino had led a group of pro-democracy activists on a protest, calling on President Goodluck Jonathan to live up to the expectation of Nigerians and sack the "corrupt" minister from his cabinet.




Anyway, after the arrest of Dino Melaye, President Jonathan immediately swung into action, to show that he is doing something on the fraud. He set up a 3-man high powered team to investigate Stella Oduah.

The three-man panel is to be chaired by the immediate past Head of Service, Sali Bello. Other members are the National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki, and Air Vice Marshal Dik Iruenebere.

Consequently, Stella Oduah was absent at Wednesday's Federal Executive Council meeting in Aso Rock and GURUSLOADED.COM gathered that she is now under security watch.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, confirmed the development while briefing journalists after the weekly FEC meeting.

Mr. Abati said the panel has two weeks to conclude its task and advise President Jonathan appropriately.

Kwara State governor sacks all his commissioners and advisers

Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, this afternoon Wednesday October 23rd sacked all the state commissioners, his special advisers, senior special assistants, and special assistants. He basically dissolved his cabinet.




He then asked all the sacked commissioners to hand over their ministries to their respective permanent secretaries.

ASUU STRIKE: ASUU Demands N1.5tr To End Strike

The Senate on Wednesday said that the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) wants N1.5 trillion to end its ongoing strike.

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Education, Senator Uche Chukwumerije, released the figure in his contribution on a motion urging the striking lecturers to call off their strike.




The motion sponsored by the Senate Leader, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, and 106 others is entitled: “Appeal to Academic Staff Union of Universities to call off the strike action and return to work.”

Chukwumerije, who read the controversial 2009 agreement between the Federal Government and ASUU, said that part of the component of the agreement on funding stipulated that “all regular federal universities shall require the sum of N1.5 trillion for the period 2009 to 2011.

He said that ASUU is insisting that the agreement must be implemented to the latter.

He said the agreement also said that “This money is to be paid in three installments, 2009 – almost N500 billion; 2010 – almost N500 billion and 2011 – almost N506 billion.

Apart from the N1.5 trillion the agreement also stipulated that “each state university shall require N3.6 million” while “a minimum of 26 per cent of the annual budget should be allocated to education.”

According to him, the agreement also said that “education should be put on First Line Charge” while the Education Tax Act should be amended to its original concept as High Education Fund.”

He noted that the agreement said that “Governing Council of Universities should access and effectively utilize from Education Tax Fund funds for research, training and development of academic staff.”

Other components of the agreement included Salary Structure of Academic Staff of Nigerian universities and earned academic staff allowances.

The earned academic staff allowances include: “Post graduate supervision allowances; teaching practice and industrial allowances; honorarium for external moderation of undergraduate and postgraduate examination system, postgraduate study grants; external assessment of readers or professors, call duty and clinical duty and hazard allowance and excess workload allowance.”

SCANDAL: ASUP Officials Beaten By Fed Poly Oko Staff

Anambra state -- All academic and non-academic activities at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, were ceased by Joint Action Committee of Trade Unions (JACTU). It was also recommended by the JACTU to remove the two aides of the rector, Prof Godwin Onu.

The punitive sanctions are imposed following a nasty incident during which the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Oko chapter, officials were assaulted by people from the office of the rector of the educational institution.




In a letter to the rector, Prof. Onu, JACTU declared it would withdraw from further official engagements with the management until the issues are resolved.

The letter read, in part, "Meeting of the Joint Action of Trade Unions (ASUP, NASU, SSANIP) took place on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, as a result of a report on assault and attack on ASUP by officers attached to your office — Mr Amobi Chiamogu and Barr Stanley Okafor, during ASUP emergency congress held on Monday, October 21, 2013.

"Mr Amobi Chiamogu began attack on ASUP officials, destroying official documents of the union in the process, as well as inflicting body injuries to General-Secretary, Lady Barr Ogugua Ochuba. He later rained punches on one Kossy Ebunilo, an academic staff in the meeting. The legal Adviser, Br Stanley Okafor lumbered into the meeting with a stick and eventually caused a commotion.

"Reports indicate that a yet to be confirmed accomplices aided the duo in the act of infamy. The meeting reviewed the situation and concludes the development is strange to an academic environment and public service rules.

"Regrettably, the two officers who assaulted and caused bodily injuries to an officer and members of ASUP are key officers attached to your office. How can such highly placed officers of Rectory Unit throw decorum to the winds? Indeed, the actions are so atrocious that JACTU is worried that these men were sponsored to engage in such heinous acts. Ironically, one of the officers, the legal adviser, Mr Stanley Okafor, is not a member of ASUP. What then brought him to a meeting of intellectuals?

"JACTU condemns the action of the duo in entirety and regrets that the actions are unprecedented in the institution. The actions smack of high level of indiscipline and gangsterism. The development is appalling, shocking and unacceptable. Other personal assistants and legal advisers have successfully operated in the institution without abusing powers or causing a breach a breach of peace.

"In view of the forgoing, management appears to weigh poorly on Labour relations measurement scale. Consequently, JACTU hereby withdraws herself from further official engagements with management until the issues are resolved.

"Regrettably, the victims of the duo are very senior officers of the Polytechnic.

"JACTU, therefore, demands immediate removal of these officers from office. The action is deplorable and JACTU demands that appropriate punitive sanctions be meted to these people. JACTU also demands unreserved public apology by both management and the concerned officers.

"Generally, in view of the unguarded utterances of threats to life by the duo, JACTU is compelled to believe that staff and unions now operate in an atmosphere of fear. That is dreadful enough in an academic environment and this is unacceptable," the letter ended.

SHOCKING: Journalist Found Dead In His Car Along Apapa Road

For reasons yet unknown, THISDAY Foreign and Diplomatic Editor, Mr. Paul Ohia, was yesterday found dead in his official car, a white Kia Optima along Marine Road, Apapa, Lagos.



According to eyewitness reports, the deceased had parked his car for several hours by the side of the road, which aroused the suspicion of passersby, prompting them to move closer to check on him.

The eyewitnesses said the deceased had reclined the driver's seat and lay on it as if he was sleeping, until they opened the car doors to find out that he was motionless and lifeless.

The sympathisers who noticed the THISDAY sticker on the windshield of the car, called the office, informing of the tragic incident.

THISDAY management in turn called the police from Area B Command, who arrived the spot to meet people from the office.

They moved the body to Lagoon Hospital in Apapa where he was confirmed dead.

Although, the hospital said an autopsy would determine the actual cause of death, the medical doctor on duty said the deceased might have died of cardiac arrest.

Facebook: Another Rape Case in Nigeria

A 34-year-old man, Omowuyi Kelvin, was arraigned by the Nigerian police in Lagos on Wednesday over alleged rape of a 25-year old girl he met on Facebook.

Kelvin, who was charged before an Isheri Magistrates’ Court, lives at Shangisha, a suburb of Lagos.

He is facing a two-count charge of rape and stealing.




The prosecutor, Insp Nurudeen Thomas, told the court that the accused committed the offences at 8.00p.m., on 15 October at his residence.

“The accused invited his victim all the way from Benin to Lagos.

“On arrival, the accused unlawfully detained her for five days in a room, had carnal knowledge of her and stripped her of N5,000, among other valuables,” he said.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 285 and 258 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. Section 258 provides for life imprisonment for rape, while Section 285 prescribes three years imprisonment for theft.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.

Senior Magistrate Adejumoke Olagbegi-Adelabu granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case till to 27 October for substantive trial.

On 22 July, 2012, Cynthia Osokogwu, a post-graduate student of Nasarawa State University and a clothing retailer was murdered in Lagos by friends she met on Facebook.

They lured her to a hotel in FESTAC Town, drugged and raped her before she was murdered.

PARIS (AFP) - the new owner of an apartment near
Paris made a shocking discovery last week when he
took possession: the mummified body of the
previous owner which had been hanging for eight
years.

The body was found in the apartment in the Paris
suburb of Bussy-Saint-Georges on Friday, after the
flat was sold at auction following its repossession by
the bank, police and judicial sources said.

The previous owner, a former security guard of
Cambodian origin, appears to have committed
suicide by hanging himself with a sheet.

The man, aged around 40 when he died, had not
been heard from since 2005 when he filed a labour
complaint against his firing.
He had cut ties with his family years before and
neighbours believed he had returned to Cambodia.

His apartment was eventually sold after he failed to
make mortgage payments and to cover building
charges.

A police source said the new owner discovered the
body when he arrived to inspect the apartment and
entered with the aid of a locksmith.

'The body was in perfect condition, as was the
apartment,' the source said.
Investigators were unable to explain why the body
had not decomposed.

Neighbours said they had no inkling of what lay
inside the flat.

'I thought it was an abandoned apartment,' said
Camille, who lives in one of the four-storey building's
20-odd apartments.

Bussy is a commuter suburb, people don't see each
other much, she said.

Nigerian Gang Rape Victim Killed Herself WithPoison In Bayelsa State, Left Suicide Note

The Nigerian police in the southern state of Bayelsa
has confirmed that an 18-year-old girl committed
suicide after a gang rape by three unidentified men.

The Spokesman of the state Police Command, Mr
Alex Akhigbe, told newsmen in Yenagoa that the girl
killed herself in Amarata, Yenagoa, Local Government
Area of Bayelsa, southern Nigeria.

'I believe the deceased decided to hang herself due
to the attendant shame and stigmatisation she
experienced after the rape incident,' Akhigbe said.

He said that the command had launched
investigation into the alleged rape charges filed by
the deceased family.

One of the family members, who pleaded for
anonymity, said that the girl was reportedly gang-
raped last week.

She was on errand for her elder sister and was
allegedly raped at gun point by three boys who
forced her into an uncompleted building.

The girl was devastated after the incident.

After some days she told her sister and the husband
her experience. Her sister's husband who is a Pastor,
asked her to describe any of her attacker.

She described one of the boys, but the boy could not
be found; I believe Pastor counselled her (the victim).

The pastor has promised to pursue the matter to the
court.

She swallowed a poisonous substance known as
Sniper and she was discovered while groaning in
pains and rushed to GloryLand Hospital.

The victim was discovered through the note she
dropped before taking the poisonous substance, the
source said. It's high time we join our hand together and fight against this indiscipline act, because we don't know who is going to be the next victim of this heartless people let opt out and condemn them and their act before it go beyond hand....

Pandemonium @ oshodi- apapa lagos as Armed & Plainclothes Policemen Clash At Oshodi-Apapa Expressway

There was pandemonium, Wednesday, at Kirikiri
area of Lagos State, when some armed policemen
manning a checkpoint at Berger Yard Bus Stop, on
Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, were attacked by
plainclothes policemen suspected to be from the
Command's X-Squad.

An eyewitness told Vanguard that the incident,
which occurred at 2p.m., sent people scampering
for safety as the plainclothes officers struggled
with the policemen.

An eyewitness, Francis Okonta, described the
incident as a shame and called on the police
authorities to look into the situation and prevent a
re-occurrence.

He said: 'The plainclothes policemen did not
display professionalism. I do not know why they
were arresting the policemen at the check point,
but the way they went about is was too bad.

A policeman refused to let go of his rifle and he
almost fired some shots.

The plainclothes officers endangered the lives of
those policeman and that of members of the
public. They also disgraced the force.

takes the status and sanctity of the mosque into
consideration.’

ASUU Demanded For N3Trillion Not N130Billion - ASUU President Opens Up

The National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Dr. Nasir Fagge, has accused the federal government of not telling Nigerians the truth about the demand of the union as regards the government’s statement that the union's demand has been met.



According to Fagge, ASUU had a Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with the federal government for it to spend over N3 trillion to turn around the fortune of all federal and state universities and also to better the lot of the educational sector in the country.

“The agreement is for the federal government to spend N800 billion yearly for the next four years, but what we have is government talking about N130 billion which is very insignificant," he said.

Fagge made the revelation Tuesday, while fielding questions from journalists, at the end of the congress of the Benue State University chapter of ASUU, in Makurdi.

He said: "Our demands are genuine, and it is based on the mutual agreement entered into in 2009 by government and ASUU.

We urge the government to be responsible to that agreement. "President Goodluck Jonathan said the strike is being politicised but the truth is that it is government that is playing politics with our demands.

It is as if every problem in this country is now being politicised. "I want to ask one basic question: Is it political to ask government to be responsible enough to implement an agreement she willingly entered into.

"It is important to state clearly that we are a union of intellectuals, and we cannot accept a situation were the tail will wag the dog. Whatever we do is for the betterment of the Nigerian university system.”

In addition, the ASUU national president said: "It is important to place on record that the struggle is a continuous one but the implementation of the 2009 agreement is key to improving on facilities in our universities and placing it at par with what we have in other parts of the world."

Few months ago, out drinking with one of my best friend he begins telling me how séxy he finds my wife, and tells me he would love to have séx with her. He probably expected to get punched in the shoulder, but I told him this has always been a fantasy of mine, allowing my wife to sleép with another man.



Although I have never told my wife, or anyone for that matter. My friend and I did not speak about it until a week ago, and I invited him over for dinner last night. I never thought anything would happen other than some minor flirting, due to her pérsonality.

She is the typical business women, very serious, no nonsense and professional. My wife was dressed very nicely, wearing a short black dréss and black stilétto heels. I kept the drinks flowing, and the 2 of them started flirting heavily. He had his hands all over her and she was very responsive.

I began making comments like you two need to get a room. Finally I said jokingly... you 2 should just get this over with and go in the room and have séx. I went in the kitchen to get another drink and I heard a door shut. They had gone in the room together, and I just waited in the living room.

A few minutes later I knew my fantasy was coming true, as I heard her beginning to moán. I waited a while and listened to her getting louder and louder and finally peeked in. Man Steals N6.8m From ATM In Abuja

The Police Command in the FCT have begun investigation into the alleged theft of N6.8 million from the ATM of a bank at Jabi District, Abuja, on Saturday.



DSP Altine Daniel, the command's spokesperson, who disclosed this on Tuesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, said that a suspect had been arrested in connection with the theft.

He said that the 27-year-old suspect (name withheld), allegedly broke into the ATM belonging to one of the old generation banks and stole the money.

Daniel, however, said that the amount that was stolen was recovered "intact" from the suspect after he was arrested in the premises of the bank.

"On Sept. 21, at about 10 a.m., some staff of the bank came to report at our office at Utako that their ATM had problem.

"When our men moved to the scene and started looking for clues and anything that will assist them in their investigation, they noticed that the CCTV monitor room had been tampered with.

"After a thorough search, they also noticed that the door of the toilet in the room was locked from within and when they opened it, they found somebody seated.

"The suspect was picked up and taken to the station where he confessed to the crime," she said.

Plane Crash In Lagos At Airport Road Heading To Akure - 20 Died

A 30-seater passenger plane has crashed shortly after take-off from Lagos airport in Nigeria, officials and eyewitnesses say.



The plane was bound for Akure in the south-west of the country, a spokesman for the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency told AFP.

The engine failed and it crash-landed and burst into flames, Supo Atobatele was quoted as saying.

3 men beaten and stripped naked in Imo State for allegedly being gay

On Monday January 14th, in Ekwe, near Umuka in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State the three men above were stripped naked and allegedly beaten for supposedly being homosexuals.

A group, the Nigeria HIV Info, dedicated to the protection of the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS, sent out a statement alerting people about the incident and condemning the act. 

In the statement signed by the group's cordinator, Steve Aborisade, the group said it has “reliably confirmed and authenticated the incident and of the identity of one of the men.”

He called on security agents to respond to the plight of the men.“As it is, only the perpetrators and the community can tell the whole world what has become of these men who were seriously beaten up, stripped naked and paraded around the community bounded together like animals on allegation that they were caught having sex together,” Mr. Aborisade said.

Mr. Aborisade said a reliable source “reliably confirmed that the men were yet to be released from the location where they are being held in Umuka, Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State.”

The group appealed to the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, to intervene to save the lives of the men.“While acknowledging that several Nigerians find the practice of homosexuality strange and unnatural, we also realize that it does not confer a license to trample on the rights of people who engages in it, with the sort of inhuman treatment that was meted out to these them.

“So many informed commentators, including Nobel Prize winner, Prof Wole Soyinka have commented on the scientifically proven fact that more than anything, gays are just victims of biology,” the group said.

Mr. Aborisade said instead of being singled out for harassment and prosecution, sexual minorities deserve support and access to sexual health services that they lack as citizens of this country.

“We suggest that our parliamentarians should devote equal energy at fishing out and punishing our treasury thieves who are doing more harm to the continued survival of our nation instead of dissipating energy on an issue that borders on private morality.

 
“We enjoin other rights group to show solidarity and ensure that the rights of sexual minorities are protected like other marginalised groups in the country,” Mr. Aborisade said.

This man in his late 40s, who refused to utter a word despite the hysteria his presence generated, was almost lynched by a mob in Sapele, Delta State if not for the intervention of police and other security agents.

The man, whose name could not be ascertained as of press time, was discovered to possess a full grown pair of breasts, which dangled from his chest, just like those of a young woman. And people were taking turns to fiddle with his sex organs, ostensibly to further confirm their suspicions that the man was really a freak. The angry mob was going for the kill when security operatives were quickly drafted to the scene.

Their anger - it was strange and unacceptable that a man would possess dual sex organs.Young men near a filling station at the Sapele-Warri/New Road junction had torn the man’s clothes, and revealed a very small male organ, allegedly with no scrotum – which to them suggested that he was a hermaphrodite.

Saturday Tribune gathered from some onlookers who claimed to know the man that he had been seeking spiritual solutions to his problem by moving from one church to another. It was further learnt that at one of the churches, he started manifesting some strange behaviours while for some time he hid his male and female sexual organs from church officials who later found out his status as a hermaphrodite.

The voice and face of the man were masculine even as he was said to also have female reproductive organs. He was thereafter spirited away by the police to the Sapele Police Station for protective custody and investigations.

But in the firs place why would they want to kill him is he God that created himself or did he ask for this specially for himself so why try to throw judgement on him? It's so annoying?
